Gear I like to work with
I wanna share with you the gear I use for my work:
First off, this is my Canon 7d.

This camera captures 18 megapixel images, and 1080p HD video with an aps-c sensor.
This is the camera I use for both my photography and video.
The body of this camera, but what makes my images look extra sexy are these bad boys:
CARL ZEISS 85mm f1.4

Gorgeous lens for portrait and more “Depth-of-Fieldy-omg-look-at-that-bokeh” stuff
CARL ZEISS 50mm f1.4

Also great lens for portraits and pretty much a good lens for everything. Multipurpose lens.
CARL ZEISS 35mm f2.8

Good wider lens, not too wide, wish I had the 21mm f2.8.
CANON 17-85mm f4-5.6 EFS USM

This is the lens that came with the camera. It’s an OK lens. Don’t really like the variable aperture when shooting video. What I like is that it has an stabilization system that helps a little bit when shooting.
HOLGA LENS MODIFIED FOR CANON
This is a pretty funky lens, it makes a $1700 camera look like a fifty dollar one.I don’t use this one much because this lens was designed for full frame sensors, and with my 7d and its cropped sensor, I don’t get the soft edges and imperfections.
That’s what I use for optics.
For legs, I use a Seceed Venus 2 Tripod
This tripod has a 100mm bowl, which is perfect if you plan on mounting a small jib arm or slider.Legs are pretty light, they’re carbon fiber. Light but tough. The fluid head is pretty good too, it has tension adjusments for pan, tilt and drag, and it has the always necessary level.
For light control I use a: REDROCK microMATTEBOX
This little sucker is the best you can get with a low budget. It has 2 filter trays, one of the rotates, swing away mechanism, top and bottom eyebrows, side wings and pretty blue accents here and there
For monitoring I use a Portable Lilliput HDMI 7” Monitor:

This monitor is not meant to be used for these purposes, but I ran out of money and it was all I could afford. This is a great on-a-budget focusing aid solution, but certainly not good for judging exposure or color.
If you have any questions, let me know, I can share my experiences with this gear, in case you’re looking into getting some of it.
